Sunday (18.01) was a perfect day for a trip. We went to Kumbhalgarth and Ranakpur – very popular tourist destination. On the way we’ve had a chance to admire beautiful southern Rajasthan countryside. Small villages were full of people due to local authorities election.

Kumbhalgarth is about 80km north from Udaipur. This huge Mewar fort was built in XV century by Rana Kumbha. Fort’s walls stretch about 36km (it is the second longest wall in the world!) Kumbhalgarh has seven fortified gataways and 360 temples (some of them from 2nd century BC), as well as palaces, gardens and 700 cannon bunkers. The view from the walls is breathtaking – you can see the dunes of Thar desert.

15km from Kumbhalgarth there is Ranakpur, one of the Indias’s biggest and most important Jain temples.
